The Movement of India (January 2026) – News Magazine of NAPM

The Movement of India (January 2026) is a people’s news magazine rooted in ongoing struggles across the country. Published by the National Alliance of People’s Movements, this issue documents how communities are resisting environmental destruction, corporate-driven development, and the systematic erosion of democratic and constitutional rights.

From the Aravalli range to forests, coasts, floodplains, farms, factories, and urban settlements, the magazine captures ground-level resistance against mining, land acquisition, labour precarity, ecological collapse, and repression. It highlights how the climate crisis in India is not an abstract future threat but a lived reality—felt through extreme heat, floods, pollution, displacement, and livelihood loss—disproportionately borne by workers, farmers, Adivasis, fishers, and the urban poor.

This issue brings together voices from environmental justice movements, labour struggles, climate justice debates, and campaigns defending forests, land, water, and democratic freedoms. It exposes the deep nexus between corporate power and state policy, while documenting how people continue to organise, educate, and resist—often outside formal institutions.

The Movement of India remains what it has always been: a people’s magazine, accountable to struggles, committed to constitutional democracy, and grounded in radical, lived resistance.
